My name is Ms. Rebecca Martinez; this is my twenty-first year working at St. Leander School. I myself attended St. Leander School from 1st thru 8th grade. After graduating from 8th grade I went on to attend St. Joseph Notre Dame High School in Alameda. I furthered my education at Cal State University Hayward. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Human Development with a special emphasis in Child Development. Shortly after I received my degree, I returned to St. Leander to work as the PK/K SLED coordinator and teacher assistant. After four years at this position, I entered the Cal State Teach Credential Program through Cal State Monterey. In 2009, I received my teaching credential and became the 2nd-grade teacher here. I truly have a delightful time working with 2nd graders. I enjoy integrating learning games with lessons to ensure full understanding and to help gain confidence in the classroom. Seven years ago I was asked to transition out of the classroom and move into an administrative role. I'm excited to be the vice-principal of St. Leander School. I have enjoyed this new position and being able to continue my support of St. Leander students and families.
