LANGUAGE ARTS

The focus for Language Arts for Middle School will be on English conventions, essay writing, and vocabulary.  Students will utilize various resources to practice grammar usage and conventions.  In addition, students will begin learning how to utilize the writing process and will learn to write various essays such as narrative, expository, and persuasive.    

LITERATURE

Students will read various types of literature out of the Literature textbook including but not limited to nonfiction and fiction short stories, poetry and plays. Students will also work through novel study units that focus on different themes. Students will work on various assignments catered to comprehension, writing, and discussion of the novels they read.
